If you don't see the created virtual drive on your computer, try the steps below.
Open Device Manager (Windows 7):
- Open the Control Panel and then choose System and Security
- Select System. You'll get a general overview of your computer
- Find the Device Manager in the list on the left side. Click it to see all the components installed on your computer.
Or press Win+R on the keyboard, type in devmgmt.smc and press Enter. Check for any yellow exclamation point next to a device in DVD/CD-Rom drives part. It means that Windows has identified a problem of some kind with that device.
If they are, right click on that DVD drive and select Update Driver Software. Select Browse my computer for driver software in master dialog. In the next dialog, define the path to C:\Windows\inf. If Windows wants an information file, point it to cdrom.inf or mshdc.inf and click the Next button.
Usually, you should get a driver found message. If not, delete the file C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\infcache.1 and try it again.
If nothing has changed, check the DVD device for installed drivers (right click on the invalid drive, select Properties, go to the Driver tab and press Driver Details button) — the following drivers should be installed:
Also, check if your virtual drive has a drive letter assigned: open the device parameters for this drive and select a drive letter from the drop-down list.
Download Imgburn, install and run the program. Select Tools — Filter Driver Load Order menu item and remove all filters except redbook. Also, you may reinstall your burning and ripping tools. So, remove all filters step-by-step.
ONLY for Windows Vista/7
You need to copy and paste *.inf and *.pnf files from the following folders:
- * — the remaining part of file name depends on software provider
- *.sys files may be required to be copied and pasted from those folders into C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
Now you need to go to the Device Manager and right-click on the problem virtual drive that should be under other devices now. Then click on Properties buttons, go to the Driver tab and press on the Update Driver button and point the path to C:\windows\inf folder.
