1. Insert a media disc in CD/DVD-ROM drive.

2. Run DAEMON Tools Pro, if it is not started yet.

3. Open Disc imaging dialog (click either Make disc image...  in Basic toolbar  or on menu File and then Make disc image...).

4. On Device tab select a drive where the media disc is located using Device pull-down list.

5. In Reading speed list select a drive's reading speed when the disc image is created.

6. To prevent opening a tray when the disc image is creating, check Lock media during grab option.

7. To prohibit browsing the disc with Windows Explorer or another file manager, check Open device exclusively.

8. Select a type of the disc to be created in Profile list.

Determine the others profile's parameters (in case it is available, DPM Speed etc.)

9. On Image Catalog tab, specify the path where the created file with disc image will be placed. By default, image files are stored in <Disc>: \Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\DAEMON Tools Images\ folder. To specify another folder for storing the current image file, check Create personal folder for image option, click ...  on the right from Destination image file edit box, and in the opened dialog select/create the required folder.

Output format option allows you to choose a format in which an image will be created.

Using Image Catalog Folder option, you can specify a folder in Image Catalog in which a link to created file will be added. 

10. Open Properties tab. On this tab you can check Compress image data option to compress target image and protect the image with a password by using Protect image with password option. This password protects your images from unapproved mounting.

When some error occures during image creation and you have checked Delete Image on Failure, the image get deleted right after the image creation process.

You also can split the image in several smaller files (about 100 split image files are allowed). Just enter the desired split image size and DAEMON Tools Pro will create several image files with that size.

11. Click the Start button, Disc Imaging Progress dialog will appear and disc image creating will begin.

12. If the disc image was created successfully, click the Close button to close Disc Imaging Progress dialog.
